About us
Since 2014 we’ve been building a portfolio of clean combustion solutions, starting with efficient wood-fired space heating for the Himalayas through Himalayan Rocket Stove. That research led to a no-cost solution for clean cookstoves, now championed by the Smokeless Cookstove Foundation. The R&D for those projects, and for Eco Stoves Australia, has come through a small Australian start-up called Rocket Man Designs. In each case the goal is the same: find the most cost-effective way to improve heating and cooking using clean, sustainable biomass combustion.
We’re not here to make heaps of cash — we’re here to do a good thing. Sales from our Australian products support the impact work we do in India. We like to keep things friendly, honest, and backyard-professional: if you’ve got a question, just ask.
How we fit together
The clean combustion ecosystem spans several entities. Here’s how they relate:
Rocket Man Designs (RMD)
The design company. RMD develops the technology and products — the R&D, prototyping, and intellectual property sit here. All the combustion work that feeds into ESA, HRS, and HCS originates from RMD.
rocketmandesigns.comEco Stoves Australia (ESA)
The Australian retail outlet. ESA sells rocket stoves and related products to Australian customers — backyard sheds, campers, off-gridders — and supports the impact work done in India. You’re here.
Himalayan Rocket Stove (HRS)
The Himalayan retail outlet. HRS sells and distributes Eco rocket stoves across the Indian Himalayas — domestic heating and cooking for homes, guesthouses, and rural communities. Same technology, different market.
himalayanrocketstove.comHimalayan Combustion Systems (HCS)
The international arm. HCS focuses on institutional and program-scale deployments — schools, NGOs, government initiatives — and offers licensing arrangements for organisations that want to manufacture, deploy, or adapt the technology at scale.
